By initiating cricket and archery training centres, camps, workshops and school-level demos in places across Maharashtra, TSR has trained athletes and champions for state, national and international sporting events.
Since its foundation till 30th September 2022, TSR has, through 87 healthcare initiatives like camps and workshops, impacted 16667 people. The Healthcare wing is headed by Dr. Shraddha Jadhav. The department regularly organises preventive and health check-up camps, first aid trainings, awareness programs, blood donation camps, etc., in remote areas. TWJ Healthcare runs 3 well equipped clinics, fully computerized diagnostic centre, wellness club and provides ambulance service also.
To practice social work with an approach of a research scholar, TSR has initiated The Incubation Centre. In TIC, research trainees are encouraged to develop a scientific attitude to tackle problems within their sphere of influence. So far, TIC has conducted two batches and these research trainees are currently working in education and agriculture and providing solutions in these fields through applied research.
TSR has a multipronged approach to bringing about educational reforms to rural schools.
“Mazi Shala”, TSR’s flagship initiative has a multistep process to bring about a 360-degree transformation in the lives of students in rural schools. In an aggregated manner, Mazi Shala provides educational resources through school supplies, textbooks and library books. It also provides expert guidance through talks, workshops, seminars and school infrastructure development. In addition to Mazi Shala, TSR empowered female students through self-defence workshops in schools.
Through its drama wing, TSR is carving fine theatre artists, who can make their career in theatre. Under this, TSR undertook the mammoth task of conducting theatre workshops in schools in the entire Ratnagiri district.
So far, this wing has impacted the lives of school children in Chiplun, Khed, Dapoli, Guhagar and Ratnagiri. 42 upcoming student artists have been selected to be trained for free for the entire year by Manthan Khandake, who is the head of the drama wing.
‘The Talking Frames’ international film festival and International Short Film Competition was organised by TSR in Ratnagiri.
Similar initiatives have been undertaken through the art wing ‘Kala Aarambha’ (headed by Sarvesh Dabholkar). Kala Aarambha provides resources and platform to the rising artists regardless of their academic background. It has 6 artists who conduct art workshops for students, teachers and parents.
‘Just Move Dance Academy’ is situated at Kothrud, Pune and headed by Mr. Praful More. TSR is aiming to provide free training to all underprivileged students at Just Move. Experienced choreographers and instructors and state of the art studio are the features of Just Move.
Through its multi-level mixed farming initiative, TSR aims to provide different models for farmers across the state. The recent contract farming pilot project was successfully implemented in Kumathe village in the Satara district. This effort has been lauded by the CEO of Paani foundation, Satyajit Bhatkal.
TSR is also spreading awareness about contract farming through awareness camps and sessions.
Another initiative to grow vegetables using hydroponics is currently underway in Chiplun.
Devrai: So far, TSR has planted nearly 50,000 forest plant saplings through its ongoing tree-plantation initiatives headed by Hemant Tambe. The purpose of this project is conservation of forests and Devrais.
Bhavarth | Curated Events
To disseminate rich Marathi literature to each & every doorstep, TSR initiated Bhavartha. Bhavartha is a chain of state-of-the-art Marathi book stores where readers can read any book, while listening soothing music, with a cup of coffee, at zero cost. Bhavartha continuously organises book exhibitions, competitions, workshops, etc., at schools, colleges and rural areas, since its inception. Currently, two Bhavartha branches are running, Chiplun and Pune. Bhavartha organises many socio-cultural events like ‘Bhavartha Maifal’ and ‘Bhavartha Shabdyatri,’ where celebrities are invited and interviewed.
Various community building initiatives are undertaken through TSR’s community outreach wing, headed by Prathamesh Pomendkar. TSR partners with various socially responsible organisations and individuals to work in diverse fields like water management, helping developmentally disabled individuals, agriculture, microfinance, and community water conservation initiatives.
Water conservation initiatives like dredging and cleaning rivers to reduce flooding in Chiplun, and providing volunteer and community participation towards building dams in Guhagar were undertaken by TSR with partner organisations.
Through training and guidance, TSR encourages rural small businesses. It also guides in market survey, product sale, etc.
